TRACTOR-TRAILER ACCIDENTS

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, in 2017, 4,761 people were killed in crashes involving large trucks, of which 3,289 involved tractor-trailers or combination trucks, meaning 69% of accidents resulting in fatalities involved tractor-trailers. With estimates of 2,752,043 tractor-trailers on the road out of a total of 268 million licensed drivers, the odds point to tractor-trailers as some of the most dangerous vehicles on the road.
